The film is set in Brazil, but arrived in Brazil much later, and provides a unique insight into what life was like during the Brazilian dictatorship in the 1970s. I would like people who voted for the far right to see how the dictatorship works, to feel how it affected people who were at least politically involved and persecuted.
And yet some people wish those painful times could return
skillfully shows that with subtlety, like many small paper cuts in the soul, how easy it was for someone to disappear, how fundamental rights were violated. It is a very relevant and very important film that points to a wound in Brazilian society that has never really healed.
I hope you will watch this masterpiece and start thinking
