Chronology
In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, ends up landing a high-profile job for which she is ill-suited, with tectonic implications for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced both the American and British governments to allow them to use real-life settings as filming locations for the series, including the still-new American embassy (in Nine Elms) which opened in 2018.
The only location not available was Winfield House, the actual residence of the American ambassador
Britain allowed filming inside the Foreign Secretary’s office , an honor rarely bestowed on any film or movie production, especially an American one. Although it is accurately described as the largest residential area (11 acres) in London, aside from Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming.

It was so good that I devoured all 8 episodes and started screaming in frustration at the TV when the last one ended. I would have gladly sat down to watch 8 more episodes.
This is original, intelligent and really, really well done
One of those rare gems where every character in the quality cast has a well-developed personality, where every twist, even the most complex, can be followed. ~~~~ That’s all I want to say, but apparently I have to write 600 characters, which seems like a lot at this time of night, especially after 8 hours of wonderful television when I really want to go to sleep for a while.
