Chronology
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, is set to take over the criminal underworld of Gotham. He got into the character during the production of “The Penguin.” Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of the Penguin in The Batman (2022), but failed. For his own series, however, the character is depicted as a casual tobacco user who prefers cigars. An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros.
Farrell STEALS this series
logo. Featured in Graham Norton and others: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). He’s impressive. There’s nothing about the character that even remotely suggests Farrell.
Well-written and suspenseful
The NY dialect, the swaying and limping, the attitude: you’d swear it was a different person. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add to the character. The show is bold and graphic. There’s nothing cartoonish about it.
It’s a shame
It’s a great counterpart to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say it blows Marvel’s line out of the water. I’m hoping there might be a season 2, but I know this is limited. HBO has a legitimate hit.
