Chronology
Charles, a retiree, finds a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a retirement home. Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says: The documentary “The Mole Agent” is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling very reductively as “I have to call my mother.” In our show, we tried to do something similar with the tone: Basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of making us want to call our mothers?
Ted Danson is brilliant as usual
As I write this, I am currently on episode 5. This show is hilarious, thought-provoking, and honestly a delight.
I feel the warmth of the message without all the mawkishness
The other actors, endearing and fascinating in this series “Who did it?” I am both as involved in the criminal aspect as I am in the human aspect of loneliness. Each of us, no matter our age, brings something new to the table.
The comedy is beautifully woven in such a way that the laughs are genuine
I hope this series continues on the momentum that I really enjoy so much. Kudos to the writers, actors and directors who have made this series a true gem.
